About Coagulation Cascades

The mechanism of action of Recomodulin™(ART-123) involves inhibiting thrombin generation

Existing DIC therapeutic drugs such as Gabaxate mesilate, Nafamostat mesilate, Heparin, and ATIII inhibit thrombin and upstream blood coagulation factors. Recomodulin™(ART-123) binds to thrombin, thereby promoting activation of protein C. The activated protein C (APC) mediates degradation of coagulation-promoting factors, resulting in inhibition of thrombin generation and contributing greatly to Recomodulin™(ART-123)’s efficacy.
