1. Purpose of use and shared use

Purposes for which personal information may be used by Asahi Kasei Pharma are described below:

  1. 1) Response to inquiries and requests.
  2. 2) Provision, accumulation, investigation, and study of, and response to, information related to products and services.
  3. 3) Notification of trade shows or other events related to products and services.
  4. 4) Presentation of gifts or rewards won in drawings or competitions.
  5. 5) Inquiry, communication (including distribution of reports), consultation, discussion, study, contracting, placement and receipt of orders, shipment, invoicing, receipt of payment, remittance of payment, and management of credits and debts in relation to commercial transactions, Responsible Care, investor relations, financial transactions, and pension-fund management.

  7. 7) Management of entrance and egress of persons and vehicles entering Asahi Kasei Pharma facilities.

  10. 10) For manufacture, distribution, research, and development of pharmaceuticals and other healthcare products, we use personal information stored in the medical database (MDB) managed and operated by Nihon Ultmarc Inc. The MDB is shared with other pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmaceutical wholesalers, medical device manufacturers, and other medical-related companies which are registered to use the database. These registered companies, including Asahi Kasei Pharma, notify Nihon Ultmarc Inc. with any necessary updates of stored information (new entries, amendments, and deletions) to maintain the accuracy of the MDB.
    Purposes for which we use personal information stored in the MDB are as follows:
    • - Provision, collection, and communication of information on the proper use of our products.
    • - Provision and collection of information on the quality, safety, and efficacy of our products.
    • - Implementation and support for scientific activities in medical and healthcare fields such as investigation, research, conferences, and symposiums.
    • - Provision and collection of general and academic information on healthcare.
    • - Requests for and implementation of development, clinical studies, post-marketing surveillance, and customer surveys for our products.
    • - Provision and collection of other information related to our products.
    • - Research on the state of use of pharmaceuticals and users' needs.
    • - Monitoring the distribution of our products, provision of information accordingly, and otherwise maintaining networks of communication.
    • - Notification and reporting to governmental agencies, municipal offices, and public bodies.

2. Disclosure to third parties

In cases where it becomes necessary to disclose personal information to subcontractors in the course of outsourcing, Asahi Kasei Pharma concludes agreements with the subcontracted firms requiring that such personal information is handled in accordance with our standards. The handling of personal information by subcontracted firms is monitored and supervised to ensure compliance.

The only other cases where personal information is disclosed to third parties are described below:
